Casey Kasem’s Body Is Missing, Daughter Says

Michael Tullberg/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — The late Casey Kasem’s body is missing, more than a month after the radio icon’s death, according to his daughter.

A spokesperson for Kerri Kasem confirmed to ABC News that the legend’s adult children have yet to see his body. Casey Kasem died on June 15 at 82 years old after suffering from a form of dementia. An autopsy has also not been performed yet, the family said.

Jean Kasem, the radio personality’s second wife, had been embroiled in a conflict with his children from a previous marriage over her husband’s medical care for months before he died. She collected the body within 72 hours of his death.

Kerri Kasem was informed Thursday that Casey Kasem’s body was no longer at the mortuary, where it remained for a month.

Kerri and two more of Kasem’s adult children fought Jean in court for control of his health care leading up to his death. Early last month, a judge ruled that his care would be in the control of Kerri, not Jean. Shortly after, he was moved to hospice.

“This is the most difficult decision that a judge or an attorney can make. Mr. Kasem is dying and Mr. Kasem has expressed his desire to die peacefully and in comfort,” Troy Martin, an attorney for Kerri Kasem told ABC News in June.

A rep for Jean Kasem has yet to respond to a request for comment.

Jason Biggs Apologizes for ‘Insensitive’ Joke About Crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17

ABC/Jeff Neira(NEW YORK) — Jason Biggs has apologized for a joke he tweeted about the Malaysia Airlines plane that crashed on Thursday. The Orange Is the New Black star wrote, “Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?”

The quip elicited many negative comments on Twitter. However, the 36-year-old actor initially appeared as though he wouldn’t back down.

Biggs responded, “Hey all you ‘too soon’ a**holes- it’s a f***ing joke. You don’t have to think it’s funny, or even be on my twitter page at all.” He added, “The idea that I wouldn’t have any empathy 4 the victims or their families because I make a joke is absolutely ridiculous. U know that, right?”

By Thursday evening, it seemed the actor had a change of heart. Biggs tweeted, “Hey all — ok, so, I am deleting my previous tweets. People were offended, and that was not my intent. Sorry to those of you that were.”

Biggs added, “This is obviously a horrible tragedy, and everyone-including myself- is sad and angry about it. Sending positive thoughts to the victims and their families. P.S. No one is making me send these tweets- I simply understand that my comments might have come off as insensitive and ill-timed. For that, I apologize.”

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was carrying 283 passengers and 15 crew members, heading from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, when it crashed in eastern Ukraine, about 25 miles from the Russian border. There were no signs of any survivors.

New Series “Dating Naked” Premieres Thursday Night

VH1(NEW YORK) — The new VH1 series — or should we say “nude” VH1 series — Dating Naked premieres Thursday night at 9 p.m. Eastern time. It’s as exactly as it sounds — the stars of the show will actually go on dates in the buff.

Each week, two people will have three naked dates on an island resort, including one with each other. Afterward, they’ll decide with whom they’d like to pursue a romance back home — presumably, where they can wear clothes again.

Host Amy Paffrath says the nudity on the show will be censored, to a point. She tells ABC News Radio, “There is pixilation and sometimes strategically placed items on a table to kind of block the view of women’s breasts when they’re eating, things like that. But butts are OK because it’s primetime.”

If you tune in to Dating Naked expecting to see only physically fit contestants, you may end up disappointed. Paffrath explains, “That’s a very good representation of what real life is like. You know, some people work out every day and some people have never seen a weight room in their life.”

Movie Review: “The Purge” (Rated R)

Universal(NEW YORK) — The Purge was one of the 2013′s big box office success stories. It cost $3 million to make and went on to gross around $90 million. The plot was just a bit heavy-handed: In the not so distant future, a new U.S. government regime has solved most of America’s social ills by establishing The Purge. One designated night a year, every act of violence you can think of is legal, including murder. As a result, crime is down, employment is up, and the population is under control. The Purge allows citizens to cleanse their souls through violence. But if you don’t want to participate, you’d better make sure you’re somewhere safe, because no home is off limits and no person is safe when The Purge takes place.

The Purge: Anarchy once again takes us into the streets on the night of The Purge. This time, Sergeant (Frank Grillo) has no intention of staying home and protecting himself from murderers. Instead, he plans on exacting revenge on the drunk driver who killed his son.

It’s a different story for Eva Sanchez (Carmen Ejogo) and her daughter, Cali (Zoe Soul). They live in the projects and, for some reason, feel relatively safe in their boarded-up apartment. Then there’s Shane (Zach Gilford) and Liz (Kiele Sanchez), who are on their way to Shane’s sister’s house to deliver important news about their relationship.

Naturally, Shane and Liz’s car breaks down about an hour before The Purge is set to start, and they wind up being chased by masked thugs on motorcycles. As for Eva and Cali, their building falls under attack by a small army, and they’re about to get shot in the middle of the street. Good thing for all of them that Sergeant happens by. I’ll spare you the details, but against his better judgment he saves them all. Problem is, if he leaves them on the street, he knows they will surely die but if he takes them with him, his very personal mission will likely be compromised.

The Purge: Anarchy has more heart than its predecessor — and when I say more heart, I mean it has more people getting shot and stabbed in the heart. And stomach. And head, and arm, and leg…well, you get the picture. The attempt to disguise this gratuitous bloodbath as social commentary on class warfare would be insulting if it wasn’t so unintentionally comical.

One out of five stars.
